Project 3: Color Photography
Color Complements! Here I used photos that had colors on the opposing ends of the color wheel.
This photo is my favorite among the color complements. The contrast of yellow and purple really caught my eye. I played with the lines of the image to add purple to one side and yellow to the other. It really helped in removing un needed colors. I learned to mute out or add colors to really add to them. I would then add masks to make the perfect balance of contrast, shadowing, depth, clarity. saturation, etc. to the side that was needed.
Warm Colors. This photo I focused on the depth of the photo. I wanted to make it so that the leaves had texture and could pop out of the photo. I played with muting colors and adding some in. Playing with clarity and depth helped to make a more glossy finish to the leaves. The saturation was heavy and then slightly muted to give it more of a depth in tone. The value of the photo was extremely important to help make the leaves more unique.
Monochromatic. found the raspberries to be extremely interesting up close, the shape and the look they had against each other was extremely compelling. I loved messing around with depth, clarity and color. Making the raspberries look as fresh and as juicy as I could.Muting out every color, but one.
For cool colors I really had to focus on muting out warm colors and adding cool. I thought putting them all together looked really interesting.
Mood! I found this really cool set of paints and messed with the colors. I would paint on some of the color to really increase the colors in a dramatic way. I wanted it to look mysterious and playful. I messed with how the colors reacted with each other and their saturation levels.
